Ezio's Costume in Assassin's Creed II

In a press release by Square-Enix, they have told the press that Ezio Audatore’s costume in Assassin’s Creed will become available to wear for the character, Noel. This news comes shortly after the announcement that Ezio will appear in Soul Calibur V, which comes out in the same time frame as Final Fantasy XIII-2. Is this some in game marketing for Assassin’s Creed? The costume will be available shortly after Final Fantasy XIII-2′s release in the form of downloadable content. What do you guys think of this? Before on the site, we wrote a preview for Final Fantasy Type-O and were awaiting the PSP spinoff with great anticipation but was it meant to come to North America alongside a European release as well? The answer is thankfully, yes. In an interview with vandel.net, mainly discerning Final Fantasy XIII-2, Yoshiniri Kotose (the producer of the game) told the fans that a localization of Final Fantasy Type-0 for Europe and North America is in the works and more information will be disclaimed later.  If you haven’t already, check out the PSP demo of Final Fantasy Type-0 on the Japanese PlayStation Store.

Famitsu have revealed Pinocchio’s world to be in Dream Drop Distance.  In the picture below, we see Pinocchio in a cell, lying as his nose grows. Knowing that Dream Drop Distance is a follow up to Kingdom Hearts 2, we know this will not be an origin story based on Jiminy Cricket and the puppet’s relationship. It is a follow up to what happened in Kingdom Hearts 2 in the world of Monstro. What worlds do you think will be revealed next? If I have to choose a Kingdom hearts game, I would prefer Kingdom Hearts, Birth by Sleep.

I do not have any jobs. However, I am thinking of having a career into either the gospel industry for singing, working in video game development or in writing stories and poetry.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
For my spare time, I would mostly would read my bible, listen to gospel, good underrated R&B music, and game music, write poetry or just be a video game addict and play video games 24/7. I would also play Outspark Fiesta during my spare time whenever I have the chance.

My favorite section would be the traditional section. That is where I can put down my own soul, emotions, and feelings and to tell my own experiences, tales and advice through poetry and story.

The only thing I know and is actually obvious is that Maleficent will be back… and that is all.

Funny incident while playing the game?

I do have one funny story about myself playing Kingdom Hearts II. I fell asleep and when I woke up, I immediately turn the game off. Before I even jump into the bed, I realized that I forgot to save the game so I was very upset.

Why do you think KHPlanet is the best fan community around?
I do have to say that KHPlanet is the best forum because this site has survived through a lot and the members have stuck together.

Meh. I like Mudkip but I think Togepi is way better.

From the TGS 2011 event, tons of new gameplay videos have been uploaded to the net. Gamespot, on YouTube and their website, have showed off Riku’s story in the Hunchback of Notre Dame level. In addition, KH13 have uploaded Sora’s story in Traverse Town along with a few cutscenes featuring Neku from the The World Ends With You series. This video has subtitles! Both of these gameplay videos show that Riku and Sora have stepped up in terms of skills and abilities. Also as a party, it seems like you can adopt some enemies and place them in your squad much like the Dragon Quest games. Pretty cool! Oh and also Sora has a new costume, thanks to Yen Sid.

Neku, from “The World Ends With You” is appearing as a cameo for the world of Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts 3D. Much like the story in Neku’s action RPG, the character must fulfill “the game” of death, which only gives him 34 minutes to succeed or die. In addition to that, Neku asks if Sora could be his partner but then decides that Sora would be too weird and then runs away. Sora, ultimately, being the mischievous and curious 15 year old he is, decides to follow him and rides on a rail which leads him to a boss battle. If you look at the bottom of the picture, there is a new limit form on Sora during the cutscene and also, it is quite clear that the party system from the PlayStation 2 games will be returning to the new installment.

Personal Thoughts

It is quite surprising to see such an obscure franchise in Kingdom Hearts and ever since the series started, it has only been host to Final Fantasy. This fact alone has me jittering for the new game and making me want a 3DS. Could we see a Dragon Quest world in the game? There could be. However, The World Ends With You was worked on in collaboration with the Kingdom Hearts team so it only makes sense for Neku to have a role in this. Another point to address, on the other hand, is the fact that maybe Square-Enix could be trying to endorse the character for their handheld games. The only Final Fantasy character who showed up on Birth By Sleep was Zack. Isn’t that odd? Square-Enix, if this is a marketing scheme, may try to implant Dragon Quest into the mix as well because of DQ’s sheer amount of games on the Nintendo DS.

In a press conference for Nintendo, Square-Enix showed a quick glimpse of gameplay from Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. The new entry into the series may include the party system from the original PS2 games. However, there are game play mechanics that have not been repeated before such as bouncing off of walls and riding rails. In this sneak peek, Sora rides through Traverse Town but then presumably enters inside a new part of the world, blanketed in lights and greenery. The 10 year anniversary of Tidus’ adventure is coming and next year, Square-Enix will be celebrating the game with a HD Remake for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. This was announced in Sony’s Tokyo Game Show Conference. This isn’t exactly a Kingdom Hearts remake but its a good sign for Kingdom Hearts to come back to our screens in glorious high definition. Keep in mind, however, that this High Definition version of Final Fantasy X has not been announced for North American or European audiences yet. More news of Tokyo Game Show 2011 will be coming shortly!
