Birth By Sleep Press Release and Photos
Thanks to KH Insider, we’ve been able to check out the latest press release from Square’s website, after the terrific information about the game’s distribution to the US and UK. Read to the bottom to see what the game’s director, Tetsuya Nomura had to say about why the US game was delayed!

“LOS ANGELES (May 17, 2010) — Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in North America, announced today that KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep will be available at North American retailers on September 7, 2010. KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep brings to life unexplored worlds from everyone’s favorite Disney stories, and will be appearing exclusively on the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system.
A prequel to the mega-hit series, this pivotal installment takes players back to the beginnings of the KINGDOM HEARTS saga, long before Sora was chosen by his Keyblade. Players will explore iconic Disney worlds in a unique gaming experience that unfolds through the perspectives of three different main characters: Terra, Ventus and Aqua. Their journeys will take them through Sleeping Beauty’s Enchanted Dominion, the Dwarf Woodlands from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Deep Space from Lilo & Stitch. Additionally, KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep includes four all-new multiplayer modes that allow players to enjoy the action with their friends.

In celebration of the game’s launch, Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC are introducing a limited edition KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep PSP Entertainment Pack, which brings together the stunning visuals of KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep and the robust portable gaming experience only possible on the PSP system. Available in North America, this GameStop exclusive bundle will include a “Mystic Silver” PSP-3000 system, KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep on UMD® (Universal Media Disc), a movie (title to be announced; movie content will not be related to KINGDOM HEARTS series.) as well as a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo™.

am i right in that Birth by sleep is a game only released on the psp? i’ve heard some romours about a kingdom heart 3 called something like keyblade wars and that there should be some sort of secret teaser in the end om kingdom heart 2.
there’s a big chance that i’ve missed something or haven’t researched this enogh but can some1 please help me out cause i’m really looking forward and hopening for a kingdom heart 3 for ps3
Well all I can say about this release date stuff is that it’s about time. Off to go get a ps3.
OMG i’m absolutely stoked. I can’t wait!!! I love seeing the nobodies, it’s just so nostalgic! And ZACK!!! Yay and at least they got it right, zack is older than cloud, i keep getting into arguments with my friends about it and they haven’t played Crisis Core. I can’t wait!!!

Guys, those aren’t the organization members. It’s their original selves, before their hearts were lost and the Organization Nobodies were formed. That ”little Axel”? It’s Lea, his original self. The Vexen and Zexion you see are in fact apprentices of Ansem the Wise, Even and Ienzo. The guards? Not Lexaeus or Xaldin, but Aeleus and Dilan, whom i presume to also be apprentices of Ansem, followed by Isa and of course Xehanort, who stole Ansem’s name. All of those OXIII members have names scrambled and with an X added.
Ansem (Xehanort) + X = Xemnas
Isa + X = Sai’x
Lea + X = Axel
Aeleus + X = Lexaeus
Dilan + X = Xaldin
Even + X = Vexen
Ienzo + X = Zexion
and one more confirmed,
Braig + X = Xigbar.
Braig may be an apprentice, i’m not sure. But he is an enemy in BBS. And he does use an arrowgun. (hint hint)
i couldntwait for this game to come out until i saw it is for PSP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont have a PSP so now i cant play it!! that is RETARDED!!!!! the other Kingdom Hearts games came out on PS2 so WHY NOT THIS ONE!!!!! so now all the Kingdom Hearts fans who dont have a PSP are screwed!!!!!! this is SO UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAY!!! can’t wait for it to be released in Europe! And little Axel FTW! After this game, i’m stoked about Kingdom Hearts The Keyblade wars for PS3 and Kingdom Hearts Realm of The Dissolved for Wii!!! WOOT!
