New & Memorable Characters

Square Enix has brought back some new and old characters: Those from our favorite games;

those who we love from our favorite childhood Disney movies and those who just have to return again because we just

can’t get enough of them.In the Traverse Town world, Rhyme; Shiki; Beat and Joshua who are also from The World Ends with you, will be joining Neku in The game. New characters in the game will also include the priest villain, Lord Frollo; Esmeralda’s lover, Pheobus and our comedic gargoyles, Laverne, Hugo and Victor from The Hunchback of Notre Dame to join Quasimodo and Esmeralda. Tron would also come back but he would be in his dark, alternate form as Rinzler from Tron: Legacy. Also, the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio and the Beagle Boys from Disney’s The Three Musketeers will also make their appearance.
For the returning cast, Maleficent will storm in once again but this time, hinting about Xehanort and the seven pure worlds of

light

and the seven Princesses of Hearts at Disney Castle. Mickey, Donald and Goofy will also be coming back but the surprising

part is

them also appearing in a new world, The Country of the Musketeers.

Queen Minnie and Pete, Maleficent henchmen, will also be there Daisy Duck will also come back at Disney Castle.
Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio will star in the game with Geppeto and Monstro.

Yen Sid will appear, narrating on what had happened to the worlds that did not end up completely saved and instead

went into a sleeping state, making the darkness that enters the worlds that are sleeping become Dream Eaters instead of Heartless.
As an added bonus, Ansem’s apprentices will be coming back: Even, Braig, Aeleus, and Ienzo. For the big part, Lea will also be coming back as he saves Mickey and his gang from Maleficent’s attack at Disney Castle.

The dazzling but shocking part would be the incarnations of Master Xehanort: Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, Xemnas,

and the young version of Master Xehanort himself. Vanitus will appear alongside the young Master Xehanort.
There will also be more versions of the Dream Eaters such as the Goat Horn, the Frog Chef, the evil Ice Penguin and the

ferocious Gorilla!!

New Worlds to Explore

In addition to La Cite des Noche, Prankster’s Paradise that consists of the Pinocchio casts

and The Country of the Musketeers world that consists of Mickey and other Disney characters

will be added.
Tron’s/Rinzler’s world will also appear along with Traverse Town, Radiant Garden,

Disney Castle, the Keyblade Graveyard and Destiny Island.
In Japan, Kingdom Hearts 3D will be released there in March of 2012. All of North America and Europe will receive the release following after that date.

Kingdom Hearts 3D Merchandise will be sold in the Square Enix stores! Also, if you cannot wait any longer, you can pre order the game for just $40.00!!

Famitsu have revealed Pinocchio’s world to be in Dream Drop Distance.  In the picture below, we see Pinocchio in a cell, lying as his nose grows. Knowing that Dream Drop Distance is a follow up to Kingdom Hearts 2, we know this will not be an origin story based on Jiminy Cricket and the puppet’s relationship. It is a follow up to what happened in Kingdom Hearts 2 in the world of Monstro. What worlds do you think will be revealed next? I believe it will be Chicken Little because he appeared as a summon for Kingdom Hearts 2. Which world do you want to see in Dream Drop Distance?

There is finally some news! Musical Notes news that is! Composer Takeharu Ishimoto;  also will be assisting in creating and instilling the sound and piece in Final Fantasy Type Zero; will be working on Kingdom Hearts: 3D with “It’s A Wonderful” from the game “The World Ends With You” alongside composer Yoko Shimomura. Besides working on the music with Kingdom Hearts 3D, he is also working on the soundtrack for Final Fantasy Type Zero called “Zero Expression FF”. There will be coming out with a Limited Edition with a booklet, a DVD, and the CD will come in a Limited Edition 3-disc version.

Hang in there Kingdom hearts and Final Fantasy fans. It seems as though we will receive double our trouble just for waiting.

From the TGS 2011 event, tons of new gameplay videos have been uploaded to the net. Gamespot, on YouTube and their website, have showed off Riku’s story in the Hunchback of Notre Dame level. In addition, KH13 have uploaded Sora’s story in Traverse Town along with a few cutscenes featuring Neku from the The World Ends With You series. This video has subtitles! Both of these gameplay videos show that Riku and Sora have stepped up in terms of skills and abilities. Also as a party, it seems like you can adopt some enemies and place them in your squad much like the Dragon Quest games. Pretty cool! Oh and also Sora has a new costume, thanks to Yen Sid.

Neku, from “The World Ends With You” is appearing as a cameo for the world of Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts 3D. Much like the story in Neku’s action RPG, the character must fulfill “the game” of death, which only gives him 34 minutes to succeed or die. In addition to that, Neku asks if Sora could be his partner but then decides that Sora would be too weird and then runs away. Sora, ultimately, being the mischievous and curious 15 year old he is, decides to follow him and rides on a rail which leads him to a boss battle. If you look at the bottom of the picture, there is a new limit form on Sora during the cutscene and also, it is quite clear that the party system from the PlayStation 2 games will be returning to the new installment.

Personal Thoughts

It is quite surprising to see such an obscure franchise in Kingdom Hearts and ever since the series started, it has only been host to Final Fantasy. This fact alone has me jittering for the new game and making me want a 3DS. Could we see a Dragon Quest world in the game? There could be. However, The World Ends With You was worked on in collaboration with the Kingdom Hearts team so it only makes sense for Neku to have a role in this. Another point to address, on the other hand, is the fact that maybe Square-Enix could be trying to endorse the character for their handheld games. The only Final Fantasy character who showed up on Birth By Sleep was Zack. Isn’t that odd? Square-Enix, if this is a marketing scheme, may try to implant Dragon Quest into the mix as well because of DQ’s sheer amount of games on the Nintendo DS.

In a press conference for Nintendo, Square-Enix showed a quick glimpse of gameplay from Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. The new entry into the series may include the party system from the original PS2 games. However, there are game play mechanics that have not been repeated before such as bouncing off of walls and riding rails. In this sneak peek, Sora rides through Traverse Town but then presumably enters inside a new part of the world, blanketed in lights and greenery. The Tokyo Game Show is only a few weeks away and we can’t help but speculate over what Square-Enix has coming for us.

We already know that Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, thanks to the fact that its already 40% complete, and Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be coming in 2012 but what hasn’t been revealed are the release dates of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Volume 2 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Could we finally hear word of Versus XIII or see a demo? One can only hope.

What unannounced games could we see in Japan’s highlight video game event? One game comes to mind, and that is the Kingdom Hearts 10th Anniversary Collection. Time and time again, Nomura has been quoted to want to celebrate Kingdom Hearts’ 10th Anniversary and in the Famitsu magazine, he has told the press that they were creating “HD Tests.” Wouldn’t it be the perfect time to release a trailer for one of the most wanted franchises to be re-released on PlayStation 3? We, at KHPlanet, can’t wait to hear more about it! Another game would be the infamous Dragon Quest X, which was confirmed to release on the Wii but with the Wii U just around the corner, it would be difficult for the game to sell units. Expect a trailer for the next epic adventure in the Dragon Quest series!

Tokyo Game Show 2011 is sure to be a fantastic event brimmed with new reveals, demos and release dates. We may want Nier 2, or Dragon Quest X or even Kingdom Hearts 3 but who knows? We may see something that surprises us! The Tokyo Game Show of 2011 begins on 15th September 2011 until the 18th. Check KHPlanet for updates during the big three days of Japanese Gaming!

Quinton Flynn, the voice of Axel, has recently been on a Kingdom Hearts podcast called Organization XIII Podcast and he has confirmed that he has not been contacted about any future Kingdom Hearts projects. So, at this very moment, Axel fans, the character will not be returning any time soon. Maybe we’ll find out more about Lea in Birth By Sleep Volume 2. Besides that, the podcast gives a little insight on the actor’s role in Kingdom Hearts so check it out, if you want.

Tetsuya Nomura has given some statements concerning TGS and Kingdom Hearts. For those of you who don’t know, TGS stands for Tokyo Game Show and it is held in Chiba, Japan. It usually is held around the second and third week of September. Nomura discloses that Square Enix will be having playable demos of Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Type-0, Kingdom Hearts 3D, and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. On the subject of Kingdom Hearts 3D, Nomura tell the fans that the game’s quality is on par with that of a console game much like Birth By Sleep was! Previous gameplay footage of the game has been “completely realized”, as in the mobility of wall hopping. The movements of the gameplay will be flashier then that of the previous titles. Nomura continues by saying (along the lines of) “We hope to release Kingdom Hearts 3D as soon as possible around the start of next year”. You better look forward to TGS 2011, kupo!

Hello everybody, I hope you’ve all been doing well. It has been a while since I put up an article, my greatest apologies. Thank you sorabrawl for the great update on latest of news.

There was one thing he did not mention that I’m pretty pumped about and I’m sure the rest of you will be happy to hear! In the latest Famitsu magazine, an interview with Tetsuya Nomura was put in. Sorabrawl mentioned this, but he gives great news on it because  he revealed a little news for Kingdom Hearts III.

As of so far every game in the Kingdom Hearts series has somehow been connected to Xehanort. You have Kingdom Hearts with Ansem, the heartless who is actually Terra’s heartless and where Terra’s body has been controlled by Master Xehanort. Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and Kingdom Hearts II  had connections with Xemnas, Xehanort’s nobody. Then finally, Master Xehanort, himself, in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.

Nomura has stated that Kingdom Hearts III is now officially in production after so many fans pleads and especially since some of us fans were in middle school when Kingdom Hearts II came out and majority of us will be graduated by high school when Kingdom Hearts III comes out.

Nomura has stated that Kingdom Hearts III will be the final game related to Xehanort. After Kingdom Hearts III there will be no mention of Xehanort. What does this mean for our favorite hero, Sora? Nomura has further stated that Kingdom Hearts III is not the last game in the Kingdom Hearts saga, and sources also tell us that Sora will continue to fight the darkness after Kingdom Hearts III.
