I voted Phoenix and Gilgamesh.
Phoenix because he's incredibly useful, particularly in FFVII paired with a final attack materia. Yes to auto-life. XD
I voted for Gilgamesh mostly because I loved the character in V and XII. I only recall him as a summon in VIII, and he wasn't that great (damn you, excalipoor!), but his comedic value in V and XII makes up for it.
