Favorite Party

Who did you use in your party? Zidane obviously, but who else? And why?

Personally, I used Vivi, Steiner, and Eiko. Two powerhouses, a black mage, and a white mage. Since Vivi is the only black mage, of course it would be him. Plus he's my favorite character, so I had to bring him along. Eiko had Phoenix and Holy, which made her the better white mage/summoner in my opinion. Holy deals more damage than any Eidolon, and there's no substitute for being able to revive all your fallen party members to full health and damage your enemies all in one shot.

As for Steiner, when it came to sheer damage dealing, he was the man. He very quickly became my party's strongest member physically. And with Vivi in the party, he becomes even more powerful, as his sword magic can be very devastating. Add on the sword techs he gets late game, like Shock, and you've got one powerful and versatile party member. Plus, I just couldn't break Steiner and Vivi up. I love the chemistry between them.

I personally liked better Zidane with the ability "Protect Girls" with Dagger and Freya, which has powerful and deadly combos, but yes, Vivi and Steiner are a good combo indeed.

Zidane, Eiko, and Amarant/Freya, and Steiner.

Zidane because you have to, and Thievery is awesome. Any move that always does 9999 damage is okay with me, especially since I never trained my characters high enough to be able to do so on their own every time. Steiner was a powerful hitter and Shock (and some of the other abilities) did reliable 9999 damage as well. Very useful against Ozma. Eiko was my mage and summoner. She healed almost every turn, or threw in an eidolon or Holy when she didn't need to cure anyone. I used Amarant most of the time. His monkly abilities were really useful for healing and such. I used Freya during boss battles (like against Ozma) because, again, her Dragon Crest ability did reliable damage.

I only used Dagger when Eiko was unavailable. I leveled up Quina and got most of his/her's blue magic, but only used him in my party occasionally. I rarely used Vivi. I don't like attacking with magic.

I love th earlier party's when Zidane was still in his troupe.
This is because I couldn't select who I wanted in my party most of the time, I played this game for the story, not to complete it 100%.
Might go back and do it if I can dig it up tho.

Zidane - I have never minded him, infact I love using his character honestly XD he has a cool fighting style imo.

Dagger - o.o reminds me of my girlfriend.. XD though so does Tifa.. and Paine.. depending on the day and situation. Anyway, she has Bahamut and I am a dragon fanatic so naturally I have her constantly in the party even when she has a breakdown (which has never taken much of a toll in battle in the many times I've played it o.O)

Vivi - XD pretty easy to guess, since I got every ability for every character (except maybe Quina) he has some wicked spells on his list, and he is one of my favorite tragic characters.

Freya - Because she is a Dragoon, thats reason enough for me really. but add to that her final dragon (been awhile since I've gotten to play because ps2 doesn't read ps1 disks anymore so don't remember the exact name x_X *feels shame*) she is one of the best characters in battle imo, jump means she can avoid damage and horrible status effects in a tight spot. And she also has a nice personallity

My party changed a lot but mostly it was Zidane Vivi Steiner and Dagger
Zidane has the best abilities for fighting as for Vivi he has the strongest magic Steiner is good for magic and sword attacks + you can use Vivi's Doomsday with out killing your self
As for Dagger she has Bahamut and Ark as summons and her healing magic is just as good as Beatrix.

Eiko - for the cuteness ^^' and summons/magic ect.

Vivi - Magic and Trance! totaly!

Steiner - (i hope i spelt that right) for the attacts.

yeah i guess Dagger would have been a safer option and a more powerful one too instead of Eiko but hey, i beat the game with her hehe

I say Zidane, Dagger, Amarant and Freya.

I'm more a strenght user than magic caster... just didn't bring Steiner because I knew a White Mage around could help, and Eiko annoyed me a bit.... at the ending it's when i really started to like her... And Quina... well, she made me laugh a lot, but that's all. So I picked Dagger, even with Quina's Auto-Life and Eiko's Full-Life and Holy.

Eiko is really much more powerful, despite the fact that Dagger has more eidolons. Eiko learns white magic faster, has holy, and Phoenix. There's no contest in my book.

I alternate between Zidane and Steiner, Dagger and Eiko, Vivi and Quania, and Freya and that claw dude.
