no it wasn't. it was a glitch Gamefreak put in on purpose. while they were planning on adding a new poke they stopped halfway but modified the pokes data so that it would do that and made it only appear through a couple specific tricks. it wasn't 'removed properly' no it was put there on purpose

Actually no. Because Gamefreak only wanted 150 pokemon for each REGION. They only added 151 pokemon in KANTO because of Mewtwo, since the movie "POKEMON THE 1ST MOVIE" was made and mewtwo made it's appearance, it was consider to be a pokemon.
It's pretty obvious, so I doubt they were trying to squeeze in more pokemon. MEW is the last PKM in the pokedex for KANTO.

150 PKM -HOEN
150 PKM -SINNOH

no you guys are wrong. they planned more pokes but the old GB game couldn't handle more data so they cut it down. instead they left the glitch for some unkown reason but modified it so it does the item trick. by the time Gold and Silver came out technology was better so they could put in more which is why they have close to 300 pokes. and the tech has only gotten better which is why there is more.

and you got your info wrong. Mewtwo was in the game and they wanted to add Mew. they did at the last second which is why Red/Blue/Yellow has 151 pokes. also each new generation doesn't add a new 150. they add anywhere from 80 to 120 because Ruby/Saphire/Emerald only brought close to 90 new pokes while Gold/Silver/Crystal and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum each added around 120 new pokes.

Ahh Pokemon..I remember the good ol days. I had every single pokemon game that ever came out. I still have my Nintendo 64 lol a I know all the names of every single pokemon. The very new ones I have to learn though too.

actually a little wiki search made me fid out were all wrong, it wasn't left in the game as a glitch, they couldn't take it out. Its complicated so just fucking google it.

Basically then, when you are watching the old man the game changes your characters name to old man. This is saved as your last name, Cinibar island is the only place where you cannot catch wild pokemon, on the side there is an area where no specific pokemon are to show, in other words all pokemon can apear. Once you enter a battle the game still reads your name as old man and brings up missingno as a glitch.

Either they take out the old man and dont teach people how to catch pokemon or they leave missingno in.

And no, I dont know what EV or IV points are, if you read some of my posts I haven't played pokemon since Gold and in all honesty, it isn't that interesting, or impresisve that you know these things.

thats how it worked in Yellow. it was different in Red/Blue. in R/B it was say talk to the man but say no. then fly to Fuchia City and surf along the wall to the Seafoam Islands but instead of going on them you'd surf on the small stretch of land, glitching the game into bringing out missingno and pokes higher then lvl 100.

and they could have taken the missingno out but Gamefreak chose not to for some unkown reason. instead they mod it to cause the item glitch and leave it in for everyone to exploit but not capture because it would ruin your file in some way.

and i wasn't trying to 'impress' you with knowledge of EV and IVs, merely pointing out that I'm being called a noob when I know more.
