Nomura gives new news on Square's future

We're pretty sure you'd need one of those bulletin boards from TV crime dramas -- you know, the ones with pictures of mafioso higher-ups with multicolored strings and push pins connecting them -- in order to keep track of all of Square Enix's upcoming games. The studio's resident star designer, Tetsuya Nomura, recently gave an update on these projects -- a laundry list which includes Final Fantasy Versus and Agito XIII, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and Re:Coded, The 3rd Birthday, and "a number of unannounced titles."

According to Andriasang's translation, Nomura explained the dearth of news on Versus XIII was due to a number of hardships which have rendered the company's old developmental tricks "completely inapplicable," but that progress is being made. He couldn't be any more specific than that, due to Square Enix's policy of promoting games in the order they'll be released. In that case, we may not hear more on Versus or Agito for some time -- Nomura explained that some of the company's unannounced games would arrive before the next installment in the Fabula Nova Crystallis franchise.

So what are these unannounced titles I wonder. My guess is for a DS or PSP game. It could be another Dragon Quest or it could be a completely new franchise. It may be The World Ends With You 2 for DS or PSP. I have no clue what they are upto. It has to be released before the next Final Fantasy XIII games come out so what could they be? Discuss.

For me, this is really exciting to hear that they are revealing new games soon. I would LOVE Final Fantasy Dissidia 2 but its very unlikely.

Bad news for fans waiting for KH III. Aren't we waiting on Versus to be completed so that the team working on it can begin KH III?

Also, seriously? What the hell is going on with this XIII compilation? It's taking forever to complete them. It has to have been 5 years since they've been announced.

I have no clue what they are upto.

This goes for me, too. Though it is good to know that some new games may be announced soon, though they may not be ones people are waiting for.

Well from where I read somewhere which I should have posted up here is that Normura wants to do a sequal to The World Ends with You, it could be that. Normura's also a sneaky guy so it could be numerous of surprises for all we know it could be kingdom hearts 3, who knows.

I doubt that they are considering KH III in with these unannounced titles. I think it's still too far away to even be teased.

In my opinion, not really. I don't think any of the FF games needed spinoffs, prequels, or sequels, like we've been getting lately. But people are looking forward to the XIII compilation, or they were. I remember when XIII and the other two were announced- most of the people on the forum I was on at the time were more interested in Agito and Versus than they were with the regular old XIII.

Yeah but I'm saying with Normura it could be anything.

While we dont need them,they would still be fun to play.I myself still want to play Versus,but sofar I have not heard anything new about it.From what I have heard though is that it might not come out till either late 2011 or sometime in 2012.

Of course,they could just be really working hard on making sure we dont find out much until close to the release date and it (and other games,like Agito) or already almost complete.I doubt it,but it is slightly possible.

Nope, versus won't come out until probably 2012(see last real news article on either main site or under Kingdom Hearts News which it would be the last article)

Somehow I have feeling there's going to be a letdown somewhere along these lines...
