Bumping & others.

HI! This is Summonerbrandon talking to the new members. It's nice to see that you want to be talkative, but there are some things that I want to bring up.

Bumping: This is a naughty thing to do. Any thread that's been dead for over a month, leave it be! That's spamming there & it can get you into trouble. They call this "Necroposting" or " thread necromancy." This site does not allow bumping but if you want to know more about bumping, go to wikipedia.

Double Posting: I know that the computer will be acting up every once in a while to make you have two posts at once, but if something like this happens, just edit one of your last post, go to save, & then go & type what you want to do. it works for me & I never had double post for about 4 months now. This'll slow down the double posting process.

Rp posting: There are times when you finsih doing a rp post, that you either don't have 6 sentences or doing the 3 liners comes up as a 2 liners when you finish rp posting. The best war to avoid this is to either do 6 sentences or try to do 4 liners. That way, if the 4 liners comes up as 3 liners after you finishing posting in a rp, you're safe. ^^

Well not really, this was already at the top =P

But I'd just like to add to your double post topic.
About 4AM GMT the whole site will start Lagging as it (I think) updates itself daily. This will go on until about 7AM GMT. Just to notify members that when this happens, it is NOT your computer but the site itself that makes things lag and then will lead to double posting.
(I'm not entirely 100% sure on the times, it does vary...)
Unfortunately I fall victim to this since during that time is my afternoon at 2pm-5pm

Ok? &? All you have to do is to go advance on your last post, save it, & then say what you had to say & post it & you will avoid lagging. If it's because you can't see someone else's post, this method works too.

Nope, does not work that way unfortunately. Many times has it occurred to me even with Go Advanced Post.
I'm a victim and have been (oddly) studying the lag pattern.
It double posts because the site is doing something by itself making everything on the site slow. I think when it happens, the page you're on is refreshing itself and then you double post because of it.
It's more like taking a chance. You either post at the right time or the wrong time.

Here's a sure fire way to make it not Double post.
>Type out your reply or new thread.
>Open a new tab with the KHPlanet forums on it, if it opens quickly, then that's your chance to post without the worry of Double Posting.
>If it opens slowly, like real slowly, then it's going to double post if you click save or post quick reply. =[


Yes there is the factor of clicking Post Reply as soon as the site kicks out, but that's just bad luck, like I said, it's like taking chances.

Yeah we're currently having that problem. If you see the two posts are the same exact thing with everything that's a site lag Hope, Rai, and I and now I see a few members(unless I told you trump and he told you, I don't know) that was a problem with updates. Now for bumping, I've had to take care of it a lot I usually just delete the post that was bumped. So a reminder for something, if there's a thread that's either...

don't post there, however you can recreate a new thread for that topic just conclude a link to the old thread so the original creator gets their credit.

There's always some topics which are old but they can hbe discussed about for some time more. I know that bumping isn't a nice thing but if there's a really interesting topic that has lost activity and it can be discussed about, of course I bring it up to the first page.

Because there are people who are still bumping threads, there is something that I want to discuss about that I had experienced, XD But it never did hurt me in anyways whatsoever: Infractions

Infractions are given when you did something wrong, (-_- Sadly, even when you didn't mean something or you didn't realize it.). Some infractions can limit you (XD No limits on me.) & some can be real serious. You don't want to end up like Sovieto, Reisan, & SephirothX. Otherwise, BANMENT!!! Please stop the bumping & if you find a interesting topic, but it's over a month old, just resurrect that thread by making a new thread related to that topic. ^^ Do good now.

I'm not saying bumping is a good thing, but you made me confused on that last part. if we reply in the old forum, then it's considered bumping and we're told not to. BUT, if we make a new thread and there's already an old thread about it, even though it's more then a month old, we get told it's spamming when there's already another thread on it. that just sounds weird to me

??? They didn't tell me that it was spam when Star was first was a mod. When I made a thread on religion that's related to another thread which is based on the same thing in order to avoid it from getting bumped, Star accepted it & we start to post on my thread to resurrect that thread from getting bumped. Idk. Maybe it's for the debates & religions, but I think this is more appropriate in order to avoid bumpings & I don't think it is spam.
