2009 Square Enix Games
With us well into the 2009 we thought we’d spend some time reminding everyone about all the great titles scheduled for the rest of the year. This could possibly be one of the best years for Square Enix fans so read on for a full breakdown of the games to look out for.
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3 and Xbox 360)
First on our list has to be Final Fantasy XIII, a game belonging to one of the most popular RPG game franchises on the planet. Our personal opinion of the last FF offering (Final Fantasy XII) was not only a little dissapointing but the combat system was what can we say, “A Complete Mess”.
Despite Final Fantasy XII performing so averagely, it seems Final Fantasy XIII is going to be a big step forward both in terms of graphics and gameplay dynamics. It’s certainly the game to look out for in 2009 and with the creators of Kingdom Hearts also involved in the development process we’re hoping it’s going to offer something special for all of us fans. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (Nintendo DS)
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days is the first game in the Kingdom Hearts franchise to be developed purely for the DS (i.e. it isn’t just a port of an older game). The story is quite straight forward and involves you playing as Roxas, who plays as a member of organization 13 battling to defeat the heartless in various areas such as Agrabah, Wonderland and the Beast’s Castle.
With a nifty battle system that allows you to team up with other members of organization 13 it also happens to be one of the first truly multiplayer Kingdom Hearts games to be produced. With the ability to play as any of the organization 13 members as well as the mysterious new 14th member called Xionas this really seems like a game that will add a whole new dimension to enjoying Kingdom Hearts with your friends.
Impressively for the DS, the game boasts Kingdom Hearts 2 quality cutscenes which are rumored to cover over 40% of the game. The graphics from what we’ve seen are definitely a step up for the DS allowing it to play as well as the ever popular Kingdom Hearts 2 for the PS2. This in our opinion has to be one of the most anticipated Kingdom Hearts games of 2009 so check out the trailer below.
Dragon Quest 9 (DS)
The Dragon Quest series which is quite remarkable in terms of gameplay and graphics continues to be one of the most popular Square Enix franchies in Japan. With that in mind Dragon Quest 8 for the PS2 was actually the first of the series to be shipped to North America and Europe and it didn’t dissapoint. The game was critically acclaimed by the media for it’s fantastic battle system, graphics and lifespan, IGN rated the game 9/10 (Outstanding), Xplay highly recommended the game and gave it 5/5 and Famitsu gave the game 39/40 which is almost perfect!
Akira Toriyama, the lead manga artist of the Dragonball series influenced the graphics on Dragon Quest 8 and Koichi Sugiyama created the wonderful music for the game. If you haven’t already heard the music check out the main theme called “Strange World Marching Through the Fields” via the clip below. So if you haven’t played Dragon Quest 8 and you’re a fan of the RPG Genre the this is one game you can’t afford to miss.

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep (PSP)
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep is the fourth Kingdom Hearts game to appear on a Playstation console and the titles exclusive nature should help bolster the currently suffering sales of the PSP console. The holiday season hasn’t been great for Sony so this title should offer a breath of fresh air.
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep focuses on three knights (chasers as they’ve been called in an interview), who seem to be protecting the seven princesses of heart. The three knights are called, Ven, Aqua and Terra.
The main enemy is called Master Xehenort and the game takes place about 10 years before the events of Kingdom Hearts 1 when Sora and Riku were just young children. Check out the subtitled trailer below.

The game hasn’t even been officially announced yet so we can’t say for sure if KH3 will come on PS3. I’ve seen rumors for Wii and with Square Enix making more games for Xbox 360, we cannot say KH3 will make a release on PS3. KH3 will hopefully be more likely to release on both 360 and PS3.

Just to add to brawl, FFXIII was supposed to be made for the 360 also, but Square decided against it as there was too much coding involved. So, unless KH3 (ifit actually comes out) is made on 2 consoles AT THE SAME TIME it’s staying on just one.

it seen that the ffxiii will stay only exclusive for PS3, that what I read in the japan sqaure enix site.
For KH3 I havent announce yet so we will just know when they say it out loud for the public, but I think it will come out on PS3 most like it

I have been surfing the web, looking for the answers but haven’t found much about it at all my only suggestion is to make do with the games you already have and to keep an eye out for anymore news. That’s what I’ll be doing. Mr. Nomura will tell us if KH3 is going to happen or not. You just have to be patient. I know how hard it is to be patient. I’m fourteen and I still don’t know how to be patient. J shadow, I heard and saw the same thing on google images. If you type in Kingdom Hearts 3 The Keyblade Wars, you might be able to get somemore information about it.
FFXIII is supposibly on PS3 and Xbox 360 and once again the release date was pushed back to April 2010 check this site http://www.ign.com
Here, Square Enix as already hinted that KH3 is gonna be an exclusive for the PS3.

kh3 is CURRENTLY being developed as a ps3 exclusive(sorry sorabrawl XD). Nomura already confirmed it BUT if we are lucky enough for it to come to the 360 like FFXIII, then nuff said

ok…i think kh 3 is the key blade wars…but i think it gonna take awhile to make so there comig out with all these other games to throw us off…but i have heard rumors that it will also be comeing out on ps2….if u go o youtube and search for some thing along kh2 hidden video like the one u see if u beet every world compltly on proud mode…it looks like there older…so i would assume that the game is going to be several years after the 2nd so these games are also just filling in the gaps…alos this is just something some of you might whant to know…FFIV is already being made because it going to be an mmo(masivly multiplayer online game)..kind of like FFXI but i think the reason there making another online one icuzz there going to make it more future istic…(have u ever noticed the farther u get intoo the FF saga the more futuristc it gets?)…i read that on a site doing something on E3…maybe later on E3 will say somthing about kh3…
There is NO news of a kh3. BBS will not be for the ps2 it will be ONLY for the PSP.
